Robert Lee "Bob" Bates, 81, husband of Cynthia Ann Knox Bates, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at his home on Ashgrove Road in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on August 26, 1939, to the late Hobert and Clara Martin Bates.

Bob was a Tool & Die Maker for 32 years at Square D and Schneider.

Survivors include sisters, Susan Bates Noble (Wendell) and Darlene Bates Berger (Steve) and two grandchildren, David Lee Ousley and Shawn Ousley (Jennifer).

He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Lee Ousley and a sister, Lucille Bates Sprinkle.

Services will be 12 noon Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Bellamy officiating. Bearers will be Wendell, Keith, Eric, Noah, Hunter, and Joel Noble.
