Timothy Ray Rison, a man known for his infectious laughter and adventurous spirit, passed away on August 25, 2024, in Lexington, KY, just two days shy of his 61st birthday. Born on August 27, 1963, in Paris, KY, Timothy, or Tim as he was affectionately called by his friends and family, lived a life full of passion, joy, and the love of sports.

Tim graduated from Paris High School in 1981 and was an avid bowler with numerous 300 games and 800 series to his name. His competitive edge was also evident on the softball field, where he was recognized as an exceptionally good player, and on the golf course, where he enjoyed many sunny afternoons.

Professionally, Tim was the proud owner of BGT Trucking and Central Sealing. His hard work and dedication to his business were only matched by his commitment to his family and friends. He was a self-made man who valued the relationships he built both within and outside his industry.

A devoted fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball and Football teams, Tim never missed a game, cheering on his beloved Wildcats with the same fervor he brought to every aspect of his life. His love for sports also extended to baseball, where he was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan, celebrating their triumphs and standing by them through thick and thin.

Tim's sense of humor was one of his most defining characteristics. He had the ability to light up any room with his jokes and funny anecdotes, leaving a trail of smiles wherever he went. His friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community, and his adventurous nature inspired many to join him on his various escapades.

Family was the cornerstone of Tim's world. He leaves behind a loving and extensive family, including his three children, Bradley K. Smith (ex-wife, Alaina), Amy K. (Kevin Ramey) Smith, and Kaitlyn D. Rison. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Emma, Jacob, Khloe, Broderick Smith, and Ashlyn Johnson, who will miss their grandfather's playful spirit and boundless energy.

Tim was a beloved brother to Donna (Mike Begley) Holman, Ann Rison, James Earl (Cassandra) Rison, Michael Rison, and Monica (Mike) Dickerson. His life was enriched by the presence of his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will fondly remember his guidance and the fun times they shared. His ex-wife, Anita Stith, also survives him, and together they navigated the complexities of life with grace and mutual respect.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dolly Waugh Frederick, and his brother, William "Billy" Rison.

Tim's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will be celebrated and kept alive through the stories and laughter he left behind. His was a life well-lived,

full of achievements, love, and an unwavering zest for life that will continue to inspire his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday August 28, 2024, at the Lusk- McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Rusty Parsons. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM Wednesday August 28, 2024, until the hour of service at the funeral home.
