Obituary

Valerie (Vallie) Dean Chenault was born November 1, 1935, to the late Eddie (Fred Lay) and Roberta Dean in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Due to complications from childbirth, she was raised by grandparents Lamar and Willie Dean.

Valerie leaves to cherish two daughters, Nekiter Chenault, Angela (Lawrence) Clayborne, one son, Elmore Chenault Jr; one brother, Albert (Beverly) Lay; six grandchildren, LaShawnda Chenault, LaJuane Chenault, Marquis Chenault Sr, Christopher Bowman, Joshua Bowman, Andre Bowman; eleven great- grandchildren, Rae'Quane Chenault, JaShaune Chenault, LaJuane Chenault Jr, Marquis Chenault Jr, Aveion Chenault, Devine McGuffey, Joshua Bowman Jr, Taylor Bowman, Lyla Bowman, Malec Bowman, Dallas Dixon; one great-great grandchildren Chance Chenault and Kingston Chenault, a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins (Bobbie Moten and Opherine Howell), and other relatives she held dear to her heart. Special friends.

Visitation 11AM at the Unity Worship Center.Funeral Service for Valerie Chenault will be held at the Unity Worship Center, 1975 Haggard CT, Lexington, KY 40505  Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11am

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:45 p.m. in our Garden of Devotion.

Smith & Smith Funeral Home, Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.
