Vancy Mae Jones was daughter of Sylvester Jones and Dollie Mae Jones.

She was preceded in death by James, John, Alvester, Willie, Arecannon Jones; and husband, Edward J. Groves, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Edward (Roberta) Groves, Jr.; two grands, Lamont Powell and Charissa Williams; and two great- grands, Travaeh and Avery Powell; brothers and sisters, Bennie, Homer, Graham Jones, Launices Chestnut, Clottiella Jones Doty; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She had an open door policy for family and friends and was a caregiver. She enjoyed watching TV, cooking fried apple pies, completing word puzzles, and reading books.
