Virginia Jones, 92, passed away on January 16, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospice Care. She was born in Monticello, KY on January 11, 1930 to the late Alford and Ginny Bobbitt. She was a long time dedicated member of Church of Christ / New Birth on 1690 Russell Cave Road. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Ray; son, William Linton; three sisters, Mary Kate Sandusky, Elizabeth Ison, and Nancy Broadhus; and one brother, Major Bobbitt. Virginia is survived by her sister, Oreda Neads; her children, Lucretia (Pat) Peyton Kirk, Douglas (Frances) Peyton, Virginia (Vincent) Dobbins, Gertrude (Howard-Lewis) Cowherd, Debra Sue Jones, Carol Peyton, and Pamela Sweat; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:30PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main Street. Visitation is 11AM-1:30PM. Burial will be after the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Repass will be held at 5PM at 1690 Russell Cave Road.
