Wavelin Risen, 94, died Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home, 2000 Main St., Paris, KY.

She was born in Montgomery County, KY to the late Owen Simpson and Bessie Jane Dunn Risen. She was a retired seamstress having work at Hansley Mills and Kentucky Textiles. Wavelin enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and being around her family and friends. She was a member of the First Church of God and had been an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, especially before her long-time special friend Grover Puckett passed away.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Buckler; son, Ricky (Brenda) Fritz; daughter-in-law, Debbie Puckett; several grandchildren including Crystal Fritz; several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her longtime special friend, Grover Puckett; one son, Donnie Puckett; four brothers, Cecil Risen, Johnny Risen, William Risen and Franklin Risen and one sister, Mary Hazelett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday November 21, 2023, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Bro. David Mefford. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Tuesday November 21, 2023, until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Greg Morris, Brandon Morris, Noah Morris, Matt Buckler, Steven Harp and Muffy Buckler.
