Anna Mae Bales “lane”, born on March 18th 1930 to Myrtle and Oscar lane of Danville Kentucky went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11th 2020 at the age of 90 years old. After weeks of failing health, she died peacefully with her beloved grandchildren by her side.
Anna worked in upholstery and customer service industries for most of her life, just having her in the room made it brighter. She was sassy but such a positive influence on everyone she encountered. Anna owned a farm where she raised hundreds of foster children, as well as generations of grandchildren. Despite her struggles, Anna always provided a loving and warm home for anyone in need. Her interest included gardening, card games, sewing and watching Walker Texas Ranger. Anna loved the lord and enjoyed participating in Sunday morning services.
Anna was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Lane; her father, Oscar Lane; her husband, Junior Bales; her daughter, Shirley Rose; her Son, Samuel Bales; her sister, Leola York; and her brother, Sammie Lane.
Anna is survived by a niece, Katy York; a nephew, Oscar York; a granddaughter, Pamela Banks; a Granddaughter, Samantha Bales; A granddaughter, Tiffany Bales; Three great granddaughters, Kymberly Clem, Kendra Clem, Krysten Banks, as well as twenty five great great grandchildren. In her last days, Anna told her granddaughters her work here was done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.
Anna’s memorial service will be held Monday June 15, 2020 from 11:00-1:00pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral home; 463 East Main Street Lexington, KY 40502.
