Eleanor Louise Thomas Wilson “ Ella” 83, went to be with the Lord, peacefully in her home Friday afternoon June 23, 2023.
She was the fourth daughter of the late Bishop J.B. Thomas Sr. and Marian Jackson Thomas, founder of House of God No. 2.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two older sisters Bertolini Byrd, Rubye Lindsey and younger brother Clarence Thomas (Wanda).
She was survived by her husband Leon Wilson Sr. of 64 beautiful years. Eleanor was not only a “Proverbs 31” wife, she was the mother of six children, Lesha McMillian, Leon Wilson Jr., Lakezia Wilson “Kiki”, Michael Wilson, Richard Wilson “Ricky” and Steven Wilson. The grandmother to three grandchildren, Leon Wilson III “L3”, Domonique Lovett, and Kayse McMillian-Grimes(Benjamin). She also had the pleasure of having two great grandchildren, Jaidyn and Leo. She was the sister to Frances Taylor, James Thomas Jr. “Sug” (Patricia), Marion Thomas (Marian), Stevie Thomas (Mary), Ruth Rawlings “Rudy” (Ed), and Joy Thomas. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was a longtime attendant at the Lexington Lima Drive Seventh Day Adventist Church. As a woman of great faith, she devoted her life to helping those in need, from ministering the word of God, to simply making sure you never went hungry.
The family would like to express many thanks and appreciation to Baptist Health, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation, Bluegrass Care Navigators-Hospice, Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Kerr Brothers. Also, would like to extend a special thanks to all the family and friends who prayed and visited in the time of need.
Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2023, from 10a-12p followed by the celebration of life at the Lexington Lima Drive Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 541 Lima Dr. Lexington, KY 40511. Her final resting place will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens located at 5364 Lexington Rd. Lexington, KY 40511.
