Ester Cozene Myers Porter, aged 69, of Paris, KY, passed away on March 28, 2024, in Paris, KY. She was born on May 30, 1954, in Paris, KY to the late George and Evelyn Marks Myers.
Ester was a retired cook at the Paris/Bourbon County YMCA, Bourbon County Detention Center, and at the Bourbon Community Hospital. She dedicated her career to serving others through her culinary skills. She was a beloved member of the 7th St. Christian Church, where she found solace and community. Ester had a passion for baking pies and cakes, shopping, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Porter and Artie Myers; grandchildren, Tizaria Porter, Desiree Crooks, Aiden Myers and Galen Harris; great grandchildren, Damonee Crooks and Dalaijha Crooks; two sisters, Edna (John) Kenney and Patricia August and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Larry “Bugs” Myers and two brothers, Edward Myers and Artie Myers.
A service to honor Ester’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Friday April 5, 2024 at the 7th St. Christian Church, 122 W. 7th St., Paris, KY by Rev. William Garr. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Richard Dumphord, Randolph Thomas, Lewis Sanford, Terrence Marks, Phillip Garrard and Chris Griggs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shanice Myers, Natavia Griggs, Daijah Myers, Nautica Myers, Desiree Crooks and Tizaria Porter.
The arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street, Paris, KY.
