Harold Dean Hughes, 72, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his home.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday, March 5, 1949, the son of the late Johnny and Emma Hughes. He was the widower of Barbara Jean Combs Hughes and was a retired Foreman for CSX Railroad. His favorite pastimes were fishing and playing horseshoes. He was an avid UK Basketball fan and dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Godly man and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Phillip Hughes, Sr. (Mary Collier), of Richmond, Harold Hughes, Jr. (Karey), of New Hampshire and Chris Hughes (Nancy), of Mt. Vernon; 10 Grandchildren, Eric Hughes, Derrick Hughes, Phillip Hughes, Jr., Jeremy Collier, Emily Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Rayn Hughes, Caleb Hughes, Kristina Ruhe and Michelle Ruhe; several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
