James "Jimmy" Franklin Mullins

James Franklin Mullins passed peacefully into eternal life on February 22, 2023. Born March 4, 1948 in Lexington, Kentucky and affectionately known as Jimmy, he was one of 13 brothers and sisters. Family was always at the center of Jimmy’s life and his love for them was boundless. He faithfully served as a loving Father, Brother, PawPaw and Uncle and was a friend to all who encountered him. Jimmy was a gift to each of us and will be greatly missed. 

Among those that welcomed Jimmy into God’s kingdom are his parents, Charles R. and Hilda Leake Mullins and siblings Theresa Russell, Joe Mullins and Leon Mullins who have each gone before him.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Sandra Masters (Clay), Lisa Masters (Cory), and son, Chad Mullins; his sisters, Linda Turner (Ron), Connie Mullins, Sylvia Mulcahy (Wayne), Dottie Jeter Neal, Jacqueline Royalty, Trudy Stone (Bob), and brothers, Louis, Charles “Micky” (Connie), and Donald Ray (Rita) Mullins. He is also survived by three grandchildren to whom he was their hero, Connor Masters, Lilly Jane Masters, and Colton Masters as well as a host of nephews and nieces that he dearly loved.

Pallbearers will be Terry Brooks, Troy Turner, Cory Masters, Connor Masters, J D Russell and Joe Russell. Honorary Pallbearers are Mickey, Donald Ray and Louis Mullins.

Jimmy will forever be remembered for his generous spirit and the kindness he always extended toward others. So many have worked to return that kindness during his courageous battle over the last few years and the family is thankful for the love you endlessly provided. The family is also deeply grateful to the caregivers at Norton Pavilion who provided exceptional care and comfort during this time.

Milward Funeral Directors are entrusted with Jimmy’s service arrangements. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 PM at the Signature Club of Lansdowne located at 3256 Lansdowne Drive, Lexington with service to begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Lexington. Reception will be held at the Signature Club following burial.
