James "Pick" Thompson Obituary

James Richard Thompson “Pick” son of the late Mr & Mrs. Morgan and Ella Thompson, born on August 6, 1934 in Bourbon, County.

He departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the V.A. Medical Center on Leestown Road.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Evergreen Baptist Church under Pastor G. M. Smith.

He was a man who loved to work, he worked several jobs but retired from several jobs during his life time and after 20 years he from retired from IBM, he worked at Budget Rental until they disseminated, he served graciously as a school cross guard at Mary Todd Elementary until two years ago, where the children and staff loved him. He served in the US Army for 2 years with honorable discharge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Morgan (Ella) Thompson, three brothers; Raymond, Elwood and Edward, one sister; Jarnell Crumbie and one daughter; Aulani Thompson. Besides his wife, Grace Thompson, he leaves to cherish to mourn, one son; Richard (Charlette) Thompson, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews cousins, in-laws and friends.
