Obituary
Janet Ruth “Rooster” Bartlett Scott, age 80, widow of Samuel Eugene Scott Sr., gained her wings on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Baptist Health Lexington.
She was born December 1, 1942 in Lexington, daughter of the late Earl and Katherine Purcell Bartlett and was a graduate of North Middletown High School.
Janet was a retired employee of Monessen Hearth, a member of the Bourbon County Rhythm Cloggers, loved cooking and Thomas Kincade puzzles, but most of all, loved being with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Sammy (Lori) Scott Jr., Charles (Lorraine) Scott; five grandchildren, Katlyn (Josh) Wheeler, Ty Justin Scott, Lillian Marie Hays, Jacob Nicholas Scott, Ella Rose Scott; three great grandchildren, Brady Garrison, Oaklee Wheeler, Thea Wheeler; three sisters, Margaret (Bill) Kissick, Pat Magwood, Peggy Holder; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; brother, Charles Bartlett; and sister, Sue Davis.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Charles Scott, Josh Wheeler, Ty Scott, Jansen Varrichio, Scotty Pryor, and Alex Hardy.
