Jeanette Bettis Obituary

Mrs. Jeanette Bettis was born May 19, 1943 to the union of James Moore and Lucille Moore in Detroit, Michigan.

Jeanette worked at Lexington Country Place Nursing Home for many years as a Nursing Assistant.  As a faithful member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, KY., she served on the missionary board until her health led her to Cambridge Nursing Home.  Jeanette was elected resident of the month many times as well as Resident Vice President at Cambridge Nursing Home. While at Cambridge Nursing Facility, Jeanette Bettis continued to do God's work; leading bible study, songs, playing the piano and doing what she loved most, spreading God's word.

Jeanette was preceded in death by two husbands George Morton and Rev. James Bettis: Father and Mother James Moore and Lucille Moore; one sister Essie Blanton; Daughter Savannah Williams; and Son Henry Morton.

She is survived by her sisters Collen Clark and Henrietta Clemons, Brothers Wallace (Linda) Moore and Michael Moore, Her children Regina (Benjamin) Moore-Allen, Mary Arthur, Anthony Morton, Diane Hampton, Teresa (Fredrick) Cotton George(Opal) Morton, and Timothy Morton.
