Mary Frances Bradley. 66, of Bloomington died Friday, February 15, 2019 in her home. She was born May 14, 1952 in Indianapolis to Thomas Jefferson Bradley and Josephine Jackson Bradley. She was a retired Medical Assistant.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Marlin Thompson and his wife Latricia of Louisville; her daughter, Serretta Brooke Gordon and her husband Gregory of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Quanxavior (Hopelyn) Bottoms, Elijah Thompson and Xavior Thompson all of Louisville; three great grandchildren, Qamarie, Isiah and Ethan Bottoms; four siblings, William Lee (Mary) Bradley of Lexington, Bonnie Lomax of Upper Marlboro, MD, Ronald (Pam) Bradley of Indianapolis and Yolanda (Brian) Akers of Indianapolis; her former husband and the father of her children, Stephan Allen Thompson of Lexington; an honorary grandchild, Ariel Travis; a special lab, Scotty; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bobby Bradley, Sr.; a sister, Selena Bradley; a brother in law, James Lomax; and a sister in law, Darlene Bradley.
Mary was a member of Bethel AME church in Bloomington, the American Association of Medical Assistants, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Lexington and as a child had attended First Baptist Church in Versailles, KY. Her passions included spending time with her family, meals with her family, drawing, painting and sewing. She had sewn hats for her grandchildren and made purses for her great granddaughters.
The family would like to thank all the people involved with Mary’s care at I. U. Health and Elders Journey/Comfort Keepers for their tireless and outstanding care extended to their family and mother.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in our Garden of Everlasting Life.
