Mary Elizabeth (Wheeler) Scott

Mary Elizabeth Wheeler Scott, born April 2, 1931 went home March 5, 2020. She was the daughter of Thomas and Clemmie Wheeler and was preceded in death by 3 siblings Thomas Wheeler, George Wheeler and Maggie Fisher.

A graduate of Western High School where she met the love of her life, her husband the late Samuel T. Scott Jr. This union produced 3 children, Vernona J. Scott, Eltina (Richard) Scott Barrett, and Louis T. Scott all of Saint Petersburg, Florida.

She was a doting grandmother to 4 grandchildren Adrienne E. Southerland, Dunlap, Illinois, April C. Gilbert Logansville, GA, Brandon C. Brooks, Saint Petersburg, Fl, and Austin (Katie) Brooks Elsmere, KY. Additional survivors include 6 great grandchildren Malachi and Micah Ferguson, Matthew and Jasmine Southerland and Zoie and Zion Brooks. She is also survived by special niece Mary Jane Henson and her family and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Wheeler Scott will be at 12 noon, on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. John Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Richard Barrett, Brandon Brooks, Austin Brooks, Torrin Gilbert, Vincent Hawkins, and Clyde Marks, Sr. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
