Mary Wallace was born June 18, 1932 to the late Margret Turner and Robert Bell in Louisville, Kentucky. She was lovingly raised by the late Ely & Addie Booker Sydney in New Zion, KY. Mary received her education for the city of Georgetown, KY.
After marrying the late Bishop James Wallace, Jr., she moved to Lexington and became a member of House of God under the pastorate of the late Chief Apostle S. P. Rawlings. She later joined the Greater Shabak Temple of God under the pastorate of Apostle J. B. Thomas, Jr. There she served on the Mother’s Board, bestowed the title of Elect Lady and was a pillar in the church until her last day. She served on the Finance Committee for over 30 years. When she wasn’t working in the church, she was doing what came naturally for her, caring and nurturing children. She retired as a Pharmacy Tech, filling each prescription with love and care.
Over the years, Mary shared many fun times, laughs, hugs, kisses, conversations, meals and lots of memories. She was the matriarch of her family and she lived to see six generations of her legacy.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn S. Wallace; a son, Tilford Wallace; and two grandsons, Gregory L. Rawlings and Robert Wallace, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Geraldine (John) Carter of Montgomery, AL, James (Barbara) Wallace of Los Angeles, CA, David (Carolyn) Wallace, Sr. of Georgetown, SC and Robert Wallace, Sr. of Lexington, KY; 33 grandchildren; 87 great grandchildren;78 great great grandchildren; 17 great great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including some special friends, Surinder Sabof Sabnarwal, Joan Bell, Francis Taylor, Magdalene Boyd, Jimmie Ann Hoskins, Darrell Hoskins, narwal, Mary Minton and newest found friend, Kimberly Gregory.
