Megan Hoffmann Obituary

Following a brief illness, Megan Lynn Hoffmann died peacefully in the Jordan Valley Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah at 1:08 PM EST on October 24th, 2020 surrounded by her loving and devoted parents.

Megan was born on March 27th, 1985 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was baptized into the Catholic Church and confirmed at age fifteen and professed her love for Jesus as her Savior before she died. At the age of five, the family moved to Memphis where she lived for most of her life until moving back to Lexington a few years ago.

Megan was a bright child and a gifted student and excelled in everything she put her mind to.

Her career journey reflected her wide range of interests: floristry because she was a creative; professional pet sitting because her love for animals may have exceeded her love for people, and she used her degree in psychology to help others through her career in social work, providing peer support and advocacy for the most vulnerable among us.

With impeccable timing and a matchless wit, Megan possessed a rare, incisive humor. When she walked into a room Megan became the life of every party, automatically becoming the most interesting person there. She was loved by many and ignored by no one. Wherever she went she made fast, fiercely loyal friends and sometimes even a brief adversary. But that is what passionate people sometimes do and it’s what everyone loved the most about her. Anyone who really got to know Megan became a devoted and treasured friend for life.

Megan is survived by her parents Tamara and Christopher of Winchester, KY, her brother Zachary and his wife Tiffany of Baltimore, her grandmothers Helen Hoffmann and Avanelle Jones of Lexington and a host of committed friends and extended family.

Donations can be made to the Lexington Humane Society.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
